In light of the recent events surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we wanted to let you know that we at Evolution Elevator & Escalator Corp. are thinking of you, your families and those in your offices. Please do everything you need to do to remain safe and healthy.
Evolution Elevator & Escalator Corp. has been diligent in preparing and we are open for business. We stand ready to assist you in servicing your customers without disruption. We understand that you will need your Vertical Transportation to properly support your business, and your clients – and as Essential Workers we will be here every day.
To prevent the introduction and potential spread of illness to our Field Technicians, we have taken the following precautionary measures:
- Implement Social Distancing Procedures where possible
- Issued our Field Technicians N95 Respirators
- Providing Full Face Shields for Additional Protection
- Providing Safety Glasses and Goggles
- Providing Hand Sanitizer and access to Soap and Water
- Providing Technicians with proper Cleaning Supplies and Cleaners to properly disinfect the Work Area, Tools, and Equipment
We have also put into place an Emergency Rapid Response Program to respond to all Emergency Service Calls for our Current and Potential Customers whether your Vertical Transportation is under contract with Evolution or not. This program will remain in place unless restricted by the Local Government.
- Immediate response from Management with Real Time ETA for Service and answers to any questions.
- Commitment of One (1) Hour Response time to Entrapments.
- Commitment of Two (2) Hour Response for Service Calls.
We have also created a COVID-19 Clean down Packages for Elevators and Escalators that include:
- Complete Cleaning of Elevator, Pit, Car Top, Hoistway, and Cabs using approved Disinfectants and Sanitizers
- Complete Cleaning of Escalators Handrails, Removal of Escalator Steps, Cleaning of the Interior of the Escalator, Cleaning of Glass, Start/Stop Buttons, and other exposed services using approved Disinfectants and Sanitizers.

You can help mitigate the spread of this disease by following some of these tips.
Facility Managers
- Clean and disinfect all elevator buttons and other frequently touched surfaces periodically throughout the day
- Post signage letting riders know that all high-touch surfaces are being cleaned on a regular basis to help keep them safe.
- Post signage asking riders to avoid overcrowded elevators and to practice social distancing
- Provide sanitizing wipes and/or hand sanitizer near elevators and escalator
- Stay safe in your home, workplace and in commercial environments by following tips from the center for disease control.
Riding public
- Hold the handrail when riding an escalator and remember to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer soon after.
- Practice social distancing in an elevator or on an escalator. If the elevator is crowded, wait for the next one.
- Follow all general hygiene tips, such as coughing into your elbows and not your hands
- Do not walk up/down a stopped escalator. Look for equipment that is in service or your nearest stairs
- Stay safe in your home, workplace and in commercial environments by following tips from the center for disease control.
